What is the Plastic Logic Publisher Program?
The Plastic Logic Publisher Program provides the foundation for publishers who are interested in making their content available for QUE.  The program has two main components.
- Content creation, format and protection information
Plastic Logic will provide information on creating content, document formats supported, common layout conventions, style guides, and the use of Digital Rights Management (DRM). The information is intended to make sure publishers, enterprises, and organizations can create content for viewing on QUE.
- Content sales and distribution through the QUE store
Plastic Logic planswill premiere the QUE store powered by Barnes and Noble concurrently with the QUE premiere on January 7, 2010 at CES, Las Vegas.   The Company will work with a wide range of content aggregators, publishers and content creators large and small to offer a wide range of business and leisure content including newspapers, magazines, trade journals, web publications and ebooks.
What does a publisher get if they join the Plastic Logic Publisher Program?
Plastic Logic offers  publishers the opportunity to increase reach and readership in a program that is complementary to their print and online editions. Participants in the program will have access to Information on creating, formatting and protecting content for QUE. Information on supported document formats, the use of DRM, as well as information on common layout conventions for different document types. 
Publishers who are interested in the program should fill out the web form.
What document formats will QUE support?
Plastic Logic plans to support all the popular business document formats. Some examples of the document formats supported by QUE are: PDF, GIF, JPEG, PNG, BMP, ePub, eReader Format, eReader DRM, Text and all printable formats such as Microsoft Office (2003/2007), E-mail, Calendar, HTML (e.g., Maps), RTF and Visio.
Will QUE support DRM?  If so, what types of DRM?
Plastic Logic has announced licensing of Adobe technology to eventually provide PDF, ePUB and Adobe DRM/eBook support on QUE. In addition, eReader has DRM support built in. Plastic Logic intends to support other DRM solutions that publishers’ want.
When will information be available on standard layout conventions, including style guides and user interactions?
Information will be available to Publisher Program participants after the QUE premiere on January 7, 2010 at CES, Las Vegas.
What does it cost to be a part of the Plastic Logic Publisher Program?
There is no cost to be a part of the program at this time. 
What are the terms?

Do I need to sign a contract or agreement to be a part of the Plastic Logic Publisher Program?
Participants interested in information on formatting, style guides and other resources associated with making documents easily viewable on QUE will need to sign a Publisher Program agreement. Details on these agreements will be available after the product launch in early 2010.

Publishers interested in distributing content through the QUE store will need to sign a resale contract. Details on these agreements will be available after the QUE premiere on January 7, 2010 at CES, Las Vegas.
What type of software do I need to publish for QUE? 
No special software is required in order to publish content for QUE.  We support a wide variety of industry leading document types and open document formats.
What about self-publishers?
Self publishing is a growing avenue for content creation and Plastic Logic is evaluating this opportunity.
When will you support foreign languages on QUE?
QUE will be able to open and view documents in any language as long as the document format natively supports that language.  For example, a PDF document in French would be easily viewable on the device. 
We have not announced when localized versions of QUE will be available.  Localized version would have all of the device menus and documentation translated into local languages and using local conventions.
Will QUE support Flash, Flash Lite or Silverlight?
We have not announced support for these platforms. Flash, Flash Lite and Silverlight are considered multimedia platforms for animation, interactivity and video.  They are not commonly used for documents and reading environments.
Will QUE support real time news and information (e.g. blogs)?
Yes, QUE supports blogs (called Web Publications) in addition to common business documents, newspapers, magazines and books.
Will Plastic Logic have an online store selling content?

What types of content will you sell in the QUE store?
The QUE store will offer a wide range of business and leisure content including newspapers, magazines, trade journals, web publications, ebooks, research reports, etc..
lf I am already working with Barnes and Noble or Olive Software, will my content be available to the QUE store?
If your content is already distributed by any of the aggregators then you can choose to make it available for inclusion in the QUE store. Contact Plastic Logic by filling out the web form.
Plastic Logic has announced direct relationships with some newspaper publishers. What’s the nature of these relationships? Will more direct relationships be forthcoming?
Publishers have many options when it comes to working with Plastic Logic. Some large publishers are looking for strategic relationships to work together with us to develop specific programs and/or content. At present, we have announced strategic relationships with the Financial Times and USA Today.
How do I get my content into the QUE store?
Publisher Program participants will receive pertinent information on participating in the QUE store after the QUE premiere on January 7, 2010 at CES, Las Vegas. Publishers who are interested in participating in the program should fill out the web form.
Will small publishers, authors and other content providers be able to sell content in the QUE store?
Plastic Logic is working to have a large amount and diversity of content in the QUE store. Details on how smaller publishers, authors and other content providers will be able to participate will be made available in the future.
Will I be able to obtain/sell content for QUE without going through the QUE store?
Yes.  Any content formatted in supported document formats such as PDF, Microsoft Office document formats or ePUB can be downloaded to and viewed on QUE.
How will content be downloaded from the QUE Store to QUE?
Content will be available wired via USB and wirelessly via WiFi or AT&T 3G.
