A ‘buyer’s guide’ to flexible plastic e-paper displays

Display technology is ubiquitous — meaning we all spend a lot of time engaging with ‘screens’ of some kind… most of which are made of glass.

But here at Plastic Logic we believe that glass displays don’t always make sense in the modern world, and more to the point, they are increasingly very limiting in terms of product design and innovation.

This belief is evidenced by the growth in e-paper which some analysts have predicted will octuple in size over the next five years.

As a display technology, e-paper is truly lightweight, flexible, rugged, low-power and readable in absolutely any condition. In the face of crowded markets and tightening competition, designers would be smart to thoroughly consider if e-paper technology could be integrated into their products to differentiate themselves at the earliest possible stage. But it’s fair to say the technology has had a somewhat chequered past and there is plenty of confusion, misunderstanding and skepticism about e-paper’s validity and suitability.

Our new paper A WORLD WITHOUT GLASS aims to set things straight and take e-paper technology right back to the basics.

We wanted to provide a type of buyer’s guide, that will help you to properly assess our technology’s suitability for given use cases, and provide you with inspiration via the trailblazers who are already successfully showcasing the opportunities and rewards achievable through e-paper innovation.

Yes of course we’re biased, but we’ve also tried to be honest about the scenarios where e-paper displays maybe aren’t the best route to follow… so you can avoid wasting valuable time and resources.

For the right application, flexible plastic e-paper displays have a very powerful business case, but bringing any product to life is not easy — you’ll need a partner that is committed to you and who understands the technology inside out.

At Plastic Logic we like to think of ourselves as that agile and affordable partner that can enable our customers to bring robust, flexible, functional, low-power glass-free display-based products to market thanks to our leading-edge plastic electronic technology, proven manufacturing process and can-do customer focus.

As a pioneer in this industry we’re breaking through the existing limitations of glass-based displays and creating exciting new opportunities for market growth, differentiation and competitive advantage.

If our A WORLD WITHOUT GLASS guide sounds like the resource you’ve been looking for then please go ahead and download a copy today.

Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme of this blog.
It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s challenging to get that
“perfect balance” between user friendliness and
visual appearance. I must say you’ve done a awesome job
with this. Additionally, the blog loads very fast for me on Internet explorer.
    Exceptional Blog!
